ONCODIVERSITY 2026
BREAKING BARRIERS
Affirming Care Across the Cancer Continuum June 11–12, 2026 Montréal, QuébecA LANDMARK MOMENT FOR INCLUSIVE CANCER CARE
On June 11–12, 2026, OncoDiversity brought together healthcare professionals, researchers, advocates, and community leaders in Montréal for Canada's first national conference dedicated to advancing equitable cancer care for 2SLGBTQI+ communities.
Under the theme Breaking Barriers: Affirming Care Across the Cancer Continuum, the two-day conference explored the unique challenges faced by sexually and gender-diverse individuals throughout their cancer journeys, from prevention and early detection to treatment, survivorship, and beyond.
Through expert presentations, panel discussions, and collaborative workshops, participants exchanged knowledge, shared lived experiences, and explored opportunities to improve healthcare practices, research, and patient outcomes.
A central focus of the gathering was fostering collaboration and identifying meaningful steps toward a more inclusive healthcare system, including discussions contributing to the development of the Montréal Declaration on 2SLGBTQI+ Cancer Equity.
More than a conference, OncoDiversity 2026 marked an important step toward a future where everyone can access cancer care that respects their identity, experiences, and needs.
