Dr. Vikki Ho

Dr. Vikki Ho (she/her) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine in the École de santé publique de l’Université de Montréal (ESPUM) at the Université de Montréal and Researcher at the Centre de recherche du centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CRCHUM). As a cancer epidemiologist, Dr. Ho’s research focuses on the influence of environmental and lifestyle factors on cancer etiology, with a particular emphasis on understanding why cancer incidence and mortality differ between sexes. From 2020 to 2024, she held the Chair in Sex and Gender Science in Cancer Research from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. As Co–Scientific Director of CARTaGENE, Quebec’s largest population-based prospective cohort and a member cohort of Canada’s largest prospective cohort study (CanPath), Dr. Ho plays a central role in advancing large-scale population health research infrastructures in Canada. Her leadership supports the development, maintenance, and enrichment of these platforms, with a strong commitment to integrating sex and gender considerations into population health research.
